At Berri, we believe privacy shouldn’t be complicated. This page explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe, in plain language.

When you use our app, you’re trusting us with your data. We take that responsibility seriously.

1. What We Collect

To give you personalized nutrition insights and support, we collect:

• Basic info like your name, email, and encrypted password
• What you share with us, including food logs, weight entries, and your health goals
• Anonymous device and usage data, such as which features you use and what device you’re on

We don’t store your conversations.

When you chat with Berri, your messages are processed in real time to generate a reply, but we don’t keep them. There’s no memory, no chat history.

If you upload images, they’re used only to help generate a better response, and are automatically deleted within 24 hours.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Create and manage your account
• Generate personalized feedback and nutrition insights
• Improve our AI, app features, and overall experience
• Fix bugs and monitor performance

We never sell your data. Ever.

Some of your data may be anonymized and used to improve our systems, but never in a way that could identify you.

3. Who We Work With

To make Berri work smoothly, we rely on a few trusted services:

• Google Cloud: for secure login, storing your data, and app infrastructure
• RevenueCat: to help manage your subscription status (Apple handles the actual payments)
• OpenAI: to generate helpful replies when you chat with Berri

These partners only use your data to power Berri’s features, not for advertising or tracking.

4. Your Rights

You’re in control of your data. You can:

• Ask for a copy of what we’ve stored
• Update or delete your info
• Close your account (and we’ll delete your data within 7 days)

Most of this can be done directly in the app. If you ever need help, just email us at hello@heyberri.com, we’re happy to assist.

5. Data Retention

We only keep your data while your account is active. If you decide to delete your account, we’ll permanently erase all your personal data from our systems within 7 days.

We don’t store anything we don’t need, and we never keep your chat history. Images you upload are deleted automatically after 24 hours.

6. Keeping Your Info Safe

We use modern encryption and secure cloud infrastructure to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure. Please protect your login credentials.

7. Kids Under 13

Berri is not intended for children, and our services do not address anyone under the age of 13. If you’re under 13, please don’t use the app. If you believe a child is using Berri, let us know at hello@heyberri.com, we’ll take action to remove their account and data.

8. For EU Users (GDPR Notice)

If you’re located in the EU or EEA:

• We process your data under consent and legitimate interest
• Your data may be stored outside the EU (e.g. U.S.) through compliant services

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make major changes to how we use your data, we’ll let you know in the app or by email. You can always come back to this page to see the latest version.
